Money OnlineWith a new year comes new obligations: finding a way to balance the responsibilities of your profession while also maintaining a healthy personal life can be stressing. Often, this balance is made even more burdensome by the need for financial progress in our websites, businesses and other endeavours. 2013 is a year of large financial potential when it comes to expanding your portfolio to other areas. Digital Artwork

Whether it’s photos, logos or custom images created from scratch, the demand for digital artwork is higher than ever. For every new site out there seeking to gain attention, there is a need for many images that accurately convey the message of the site and entertain its readers. Pinging services that you offer to major photo vending platforms such as Shutterstock and Fotomoto may result in interested parties being able to easily find your work and likewise purchase it for their use. Some photographers can make a full-time living doing this, but for many, it is simply a great way in which to earn an additional amount of revenue.

Technology is increasingly allowing for small-scale projects to be completed without having to result to in-house assistance. If a company wants to scope out their local competition, for instance, they may use a service like Gigwalk to enlist the services of a local user and have them take a few photos of the competitor’s setup. Likewise, there are many online-only micro-services needed by businesses and websites on a daily basis. Many people make a living off of maximizing their ability to be out and about while also being profitable, while others utilize their in-home services to complete simple tasks for those who need it.

Teach Others

If you are already earning revenue online, then chances are you have a skill to share with others. Many who are not currently earning revenue via the internet also can use their skills to help others who are willing to pay. Online tutoring is a fast-growing niche, and sites like Tutor Pace and Tutor Vista allow individuals to share virtually any type of skill with those who are wishing to learn more. Many tutors with a high demand for their services can earn a full-time income offering their services – particularly in school-related subjects such as mathematics and science.

If you currently are working formally for someone else, then consider inquiring as to whether telecommuting is an option. For those willing to consider another line of work, they will find many job offerings now that offer telecommuting either as a choice or as the only option. When you are pinging services for the company from your home, you are not only saving money on commuting and the oh-so-natural tendency to eat out for lunch, but your employers can save money as well. Depending on the situation, telecommuting can boost your effective take-home pay by as much as 20%.

It is very exciting to me to see the proliferation of online opportunities. I had a friend years ago, who in her 70s had to go back to a 9 to 5 job. If online marketing was more readily available back then, she could have worked comfortably from her home. The financial crisis from a few years ago has left many retirees with no other option than to create another income stream. Isn’t it wonderful that this is now an open-ended opportunity that they can take advantage of.
