Why You Should Be Using Images In Your Blog Posts

Blog Post ImagesEach blog post should be viewed very much as a piece of art. It is designed to be creative, engaging, informative and in many cases profitable – combining all of these elements can be a tough challenge. For those who have been struggling with how they can improve the engagement of their users, finding more solutions can seem daunting. Many of these individuals have one thing in common: they are not incorporating imagery into their blog posts. We will explore the key reasons why you should strive to use images in each blog post and what you stand to gain from it in the following article.

End the Monotony

How many times have you looked at a blog and thought, “this is all mushed together”? Even a simple blog post may appear to be insurmountable if it is nothing but pure text. You should consider incorporating at least one image every couple of hundred words so that your reader’s attention will be held. In addition, you can invoke their creative side to see your point of view in a similar way by using images that either prove your point or attempt to persuade the reader into seeing things as you do. Those who simply pile paragraph on top of paragraph may find their readers not being adequately persuaded.

Improves Sharing

Did you know that blog posts with images are nearly twice as likely to be shared on social media as blog posts that do not have images in them? Assuming you already have social networking buttons integrated within your blog, it is a no-brainer that you should be using images to encourage sharing. People want to read and have their other senses stimulated at the same time. You also can use this as an opportunity to be pinging services and products’ usefulness and quality into the subconscious of the reader.

Brand Recognition

Do you have a logo or slogan for your blog? There’s no reason – particularly with longer blog posts – why you can’t insert your own logo into the article at some point. Better yet, you can link that image to a particular page of interest on your website in the event that someone attempts to click on it. The brain is exceptionally good at remembering imagery; the more exposure your brand gets, the more likely you are to generate a loyal customer. Even if you do not wish to use your logo, you can consider using an image every now and then that simply relates to the topic of the blog post. This will allow to you continue pinging services and products you offer to the minds of your readers.

Search Engines Like It

It is a known fact that most search engine algorithms give higher priority to blog posts – and websites in general – to those who use a diverse amount of content in their posts. Using text alone may convey the information, but search engines are looking for methods of interaction that convey that your site is distributing quality content. From the perspective of search engine optimization, it just makes sense to use images alongside text.

Nice post. I have heard using pictures is beneficial. Are there any rules for how often or how many?
Sometimes I will put one in almost every different section of my blog post or website.
    Videos are good also.

    Thank you.

I find this to be very true. I always have some kind of an image with my posts. To me the right image can mean a thousand words by it self. When your blog is in different blog directories, your image with the title is what makes people want to read your post. Great post!
