All of these are reasons to take onboarding seriously and make it a good experience for everyone involved. Here are tips to ensure a smooth onboarding process for SMEs.<\/p>\n<h2>Prepare Ahead of Time<\/h2>\n<p>Start by giving your new employee a brief of what will be expected of them on the first day. Prepare and send over all the paperwork they will need to fill out before their first day, as well as everything else they will need for the first week.<\/p>\n<p>You should also avail things they will need such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A copy of the employee handbook<\/li>\n<li>Their access codes<\/li>\n<li>Building directions<\/li>\n<li>Manager information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Brief Them on Legal Expectations<\/h2>\n<p>If your business is in any way regulated by the government, you need to ensure the employee understands how to stay compliant with the legalities, regulations, and rules that govern your business and industry.
